José Manuel Valle Folgueral was born in Ponferrada (León) on December 24th, 1974.
He completed his pre-university education in the Diocesan School of San Ignacio de Loyola in Ponferrada (León).
He studied for a degree in Medicine and Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Cantabria and the University Hospital Maqués of Valdecilla in Santander, where part as a boarder of Cardiovascular Surgery under the supervision of Professor Jose Manuel Bernal.
Make MIR training as a specialist in Neurosurgery at the University Hospital of San Marcos Braga (Portugal) attached to the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Minho (2002-2008), under the guidance and supervision of the Doctor José António Moreira da Costa.
During his training as a medical resident, complete courses at the European Society of Neurosurgery (EANS) in Luxembourg, Prague, Lisbon and Rome.
Ends his specialty at the Hospital of the University of California (UCSF), San Francisco (USA), where he deepened his knowledge in surgery for brain tumors in areas of high eloquence and brain mapping techniques in the cortical and subcortical awake, under the supervision of Professor Mitchel S. Berger (pioneer in the application of this technique worldwide) and vascular surgery (aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations and cavernomas) under the supervision of Professor Michael T. Lawton.
There have been numerous theoretical and practical courses and stays for updating knowledge of domestic and foreign neurosurgical services.
He has authored and co-authored numerous scientific publications in specialist journals, both Spanish and foreign publications and communications and presentations in various forums and conferences of Neurosurgery.
He has participated in the University training of medical students at the University of Minho in Braga (Portugal), as associate professor, teaching
seminars and classes to students in 5th year of Medicine.
Actively participates in the formation of the Department of Neurosurgery Residents Care Complex University of Leon.
Deputy of Neurosurgery Medical University Welfare Complex Leon (CAULE) since March 2008 and with its tenured, won by opposition SACYL contest, from June 2009.
He is a member of the Castilian-Leonese Society of Neurosurgery.
Active member in the meetings of the Committee of Neuro Care Complex University of Leon.
Among their interest's fields within the neurosurgical, highlight the microsurgical treatment of degenerative and traumatic pathology of the
lumbar and cervical spine, the management and treatment of brain tumors located in areas of high eloquence, through techniques of cortical and
subcortical mapping with the patient awake and facial pain associated with trigeminal neuralgia.
